The Man Behind the Reviews
Hi, I’m Tim Hazelwood, founder, owner, and lead reviewer at Layout Tools Pro. I’ve always had a deep, hands-on passion for tools. For me, it’s never just about what a tool does. It’s about understanding how and why it works the way it does.
I have a habit, some might call it an obsession, of fully dismantling tools and then reassembling them from scratch. This gives me insight into tool construction, engineering tolerances, and build quality that goes far beyond reading a spec sheet or watching a product demo. When I pick up a square, a level, or a laser measure, I’m not just testing its surface-level performance. I’m examining its internals.
That philosophy is the foundation of everything published on this site.
